Law enforcement agencies teamed up in Pueblo Wednesday for training in crisis negotiations. The training took place at the Colorado State Fairgrounds. In one scenario SWAT teams and communication workers responded to a mock hostage situation.

The training brought together the Colorado Department of Corrections, Pueblo Police and the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office. Each of their crisis negotiation teams usually train on their own--this was their first joint exercise. "Since we never trained together, we thought this was a good opportunity to bring everybody together and see what each other does," said Lt. Russell Wiley, with the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office.

In all, about 150 workers trained for 8 hours.
