One member of Cripple Creek's legendary donkey herd has been shot. Officials with the museum in the mining town say that "Sweet Pea" was found recently injured and is currently under a veterinarian's care.

Another donkey, "Tarzan," had been missing for two weeks, but he was found safe Wednesday evening.

The donkey herd is cared for by the Two Mile High Club. A $500 reward is being offered to anyone with information regarding the shooting of "Sweet Pea". You can contact Two Mile High Club president Tom Cooper at the Pikes Peak Heritage Center at 719-689-3315. You can also email the Two Mile High Club at twomilehighclub@gmail.com. The club is also accepting donations for Sweet Pea's medical care.
