Crews have contained a wildfire in northwest Colorado that quickly spread to thousands of acres.
The fire charred about 12 square miles after a lightning strike Wednesday 10 miles north of Maybell in Moffatt County.
Crews declared the fire 100 percent contained Thursday afternoon. The U.S. Bureau of Land Management says crews worked until 2 a.m. Thursday building a fire line.
Crews were able to keep a ranch house from burning but an outbuilding was destroyed.
