Fire crews have contained two small wildfires on Pike National Forest land west of Colorado Springs Saturday night. Both broke out amid dry, warm, and windy conditions Saturday afternoon. One burned about 5 acres on the east slope of Badger Mountain in Park County, about 9 miles northwest of Lake George and off the north side of U.S. Highway 24. Another burned off Forest Road 343 near State Highway 67 about a mile north of the Douglas-Teller County line, 10 miles north of Woodland Park. Both fires were in mop-up mode by 8:00 Saturday night, according to the Forest Service.
