COLORADO SPRINGS - All three of victims identified in a deadly auto-pedestrian accident Monday in Colorado Springs were minors. Leondro Xavier Carabajal, 17, and Neto White, 9, were seriously injured when they were hit from behind by an SUV while pushing a stalled minivan out of traffic.

The accident happened at around 4:00 p.m. Monday in the left eastbound lane of Pikes Peak Avenue near the intersection with Parkside Drive.

Carabajal died at the scene. White was rushed to Memorial Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. A 10 year old girl also suffered a broken hand and ankle.

The driver of the SUV, 47-year-old Robert David Icenogle, was arrested on two charges of Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Assault, and Driving Under the Influence of Drugs.

According to his arrest warrant, Icenogle acknowledged to investigators that he had taken the allegy medication Phenergan in combination with the pain killer Methadone. He failed voluntary roadside sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

Icenogle is being held at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on $150,000 bond.
