PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - Colorado's first state legislative recalls will be paid for by county governments, not the state.
That's the decision from Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler, who says his office doesn't have legal authority to reimburse or fund recall elections. The Pueblo Chieftain reports that the Pueblo County clerk asked the state to pay for the election.
Two Democratic state senators face the recall election because gun-rights activists petitioned for a recall.
