Woodland Park has dealt with significant grief in the last year and the death of 15-year-old Kevin McDonald is another devastating loss to the Colorado community.
Counselors advise that it's important to give yourself permission to grieve and that there's no specific way to go about dealing with a loss. Boys tend to express their grief through anger, but everyone is different.
"However a person's grieving, it's correct," said Lynette Gustafson, a psychology teacher with a counseling degree at Woodland Park High School.
When comforting friends or family, saying "it's going to be ok" is not recommended.
Grief counseling will be offered Sunday, Feb. 3 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Woodland Park High School Library.
