There's a change in plans to pay for pothole repairs in Colorado Springs.
According to information released by city officials Thursday, the Executive Branch will forego a $2 million emergency appropriation request for pothole repairs.
The action follows a request from Colorado Springs City Council President Keith King who has said street repairs did not constitute an emergency.
The city Thursday also stated the Council's emergency ordinance procedure has been requested to expedite hiring of outside contractors to begin the pothole repairs as soon as possible.
The Council will consider the funding twice - first on Tuesday, April 8 and again at a second vote April 22.
