Funds are being allocated, and crews are preparing to get things rolling on the I-25 widening project between Woodmen Road and Interquest Parkway. Department of Transportation officials say drivers will likely start seeing construction activity by late July or Early August.
CDOT Spokesman Bob Wilson says the third lane on each direction will be added to the middle of the interstate; they hope that will keep traffic flowing during the project. Wilson does add that drivers should expect to see some lane closures, mostly at night, and the speed limit drop from 75 miles per hour to something more appropriate for a construction zone.
We'll have more on how this project could impact you, Tuesday night on News 5.
