Correctional Youth Security Officer - Colorado Springs

The employee will perform correctional security work with youth in a locked residential treatment or detention/treatment facility.
Specific duties include implementing Division of Youth Corrections policies and facility-specific procedures to provide client supervision and facility security, ensuring the safety and well being of clients and staff, while using a variety of behavior management concepts/interventions.
Monitors clients to identify health-related issues, which include medical, hygiene, adolescent sexuality, substance abuse, physical and emotional abuse, and symptoms of suicidal behavior and emotional distress.
Uses skill, composure, and physical force when required, to prevent or minimize physical or emotional harm to clients and other staff while addressing crisis situations. Provides accurate documentation of work performed and performs related duties as required.
