TODAY: Enjoy one more day of very cool temps and pretty good chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temps today will only reach 72 in Colorado Springs and 79 in Pueblo....the coolest temps we have seen locally in more than 3 weeks! We won't see as much widespread showers or heavy rain today as yesterday, but the chances are still pretty good in spots. 40% chance for Colorado Springs....30-40% chance for Pueblo, La Junta & Lamar. Areas along and west of I-25 will have at least a 50% chance of thundershowers. We'll be watching for the best chance or heavy rain for Walsenburg and Trinidad and the mountains to the west...about a 60% chance.
TONIGHT: Showers ending in the early evening with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Areas of patchy fog are possible by Tuesday morning.
TUESDAY: Monsoon moisture decreases along the Front Range which will limit the chance for thunderstorms. While the chance for storms goes way down tomorrow, temperatures will be on the way up. Highs tomorrow should be at least five to eight degrees warmer than today. There will be enough moisture over the mountains for a few afternoon storms to develop. Chances over the lower elevations should be around 10% or less.
WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY: Hot/dry weather returns to Eastern Colorado again. Temps Wednesday in the mid 80's in the springs and 90's in Pueblo. By Thursday and Friday highs will be right around 90 again in the Springs and mid to upper 90's in Pueblo. No storms expected at the lower elevations during those three days. By Wednesday evening we could see a couple of isolated storms over the mountains.
SATURDAY-SUNDAY: Monsoon moisture is expected to return to Eastern Colorado for the weekend, which means so will afternoon and evening thunder showers. Expect at least a 30% chance of storms over the mountains close to home and areas near I-25. Chances will be about 20% Saturday and Sunday for the Springs and Pueblo.
