Colorado Springs Police have arrested a Springs couple on charges of selling “Cannabutter” or marijuana cookies.

The investigation began early Wednesday morning when suspect Jessie Vriese allegedly provided a convenience store clerk a sample of marijuana cookies and a business card. Police say he told the clerk that he and his wife were making the cookies trying to sell them. The clerk notified police and gave them the cookies and the business card.

Officers made undercover calls to Vriese and his wife Alisah Vriese to arrange to purchase the cookies.

Early Saturday morning, police served a warrant at the suspects’ home on Skyview Lane in Colorado Springs. Officers discovered evidence of the production, labeling and packaging of the cookies, as well as 73 ounces of cookies. That’s a total of 114 cookies.

The Vriese’s were arrested and booked on distribution of marijuana charges.
