LITTLETON, Colo. (AP) - Longtime Arapahoe Philharmonic conductor Vincent LaGuardia collapsed during a concert in front of an audience at a suburban church and later died.
His wife of 25 years, Tracy LaGuardia, said her husband died at a hospital Friday night following an apparent heart attack at Mission Hills Church in Littleton, south of Denver. He was 68.
LaGuardia had been the music director and conductor of the mostly volunteer orchestra since 1993.
Tracy LaGuardia says her husband had suffered a massive heart attack in 1997 and had not been feeling well earlier in the week.
In addition to his wife, LaGuardia is survived by four adult sons, a daughter, a sister, a brother, and his 93-year-old mother, Christina.
