Severe wind gusts have begun blowing hot embers directly into homes on the east side of the Duckett Fire along the Custer/Fremont County line.

The fire grew by nearly 500 acres Wednesday to just shy of 3,000 acres. Fire bosses report 10% containment as of Thursday at noon, but winds are blowing the flames northeast toward homes and ranches in the area.

Nearly 400 fire personnel from across the state are working to put out the fire. So far, no homes or structures have been destroyed.
