Concerns of co-sleeping

In Weld County Colorado the coroner says they've had three infants die so far in 2012 while sleeping in beds with adults.

At least one child in El Paso County has died that way this year as well according to the Sheriff's office.

At Memorial Hospital, nurses say they see more kids die like that than from child abuse.

The news out of Weld County has started a lot of emotional conversation on the News 5 Facebook page. Many parents say they sleep in the same bed as their kids, and feel like they need to be close to them.

"I understand that, as a parent myself; that's really important, but the danger of suffocating your child by accident it's too great of a risk," says Sally Duncan, a registered nurse and the Trauma Outreach and Injury Prevention Specialist for Memorial Hospital.

Duncan say keep the baby somewhere separate but close.
