PUEBLO - County Commissioner Liane "Buffie" McFadyen was absent from the Board of County Commissioners budget work session Tuesday. McFadyen's office administrator said her boss was on vacation and did not know when she would return.
McFadyen has avoided the news media since releasing a sheriff's deputy incident report and dashboard camera video of a traffic stop involving her and county Democratic Party Chairman Ron Greenwell last week.
That incident happened back on January 26 at a dirt parking lot in Pueblo West. Both McFadyen and Greenwell had been drinking and their cars were parked in the lot. The responding deputy allowed them to call for a ride home.
When News 5 requested a copy of the report last month, our request was denied by Sheriff Kirk Taylor on the grounds that he believed it was contrary to the public interest.
Last Wednesday, the sheriff's office defended the actions of the deputies in a post on their Facebook page.
