Colorado Springs conservative state lawmaker retiring

Republican state Sen. Dave Schultheis says he's retiring from the Legislature.
The conservative Colorado Springs lawmaker says he will end his career at the end of next year and will not seek another term.
Schultheis says that during his 10-year term, he never sought a leadership position because he believed his role "was to stand firmly against every temptation to moderate my conservative views for greater acceptance by the caucus."
