Colorado thunderstorms spawn tornado warnings

DENVER (AP) - Afternoon thunderstorms across the eastern plains spawned a tornado in Weld County that uprooted trees and downed power lines, broke windows on a barn and tore the roof off a shed.

Weld County sheriff's spokesman Sean Standridge says there were no reports of injuries or major damage from the tornado Friday near Roggen, about 25 miles southwest of Fort Morgan.

The tornado touched down about 3 p.m. as six Front Range and eastern plains counties were under tornado warnings.

No damage was immediately reported from the other counties. Those counties were: Adams, Arapahoe, Elbert, Lincoln, and Washington counties.
