Colorado Symphony Cancels Pot-Themed Concerts

The Colorado Symphony decided Tuesday to cancel cannabis themed concerts.
In a statement, the Symphony said it will change its "Classically Cannabis" series from public concerts to private fundraising events.
"From the beginning, our goals have been to support fundraising for the Colorado Symphony and to reach out to a culturally diverse audience," said Jerome H. Kern, Colorado Symphony CEO. "We're pleased to present these events in a way that will allow us to pursue these goals and move forward with the business of operating the Colorado Symphony."
People who bought tickets to the concerts will get a refund.
The Symphony is not honoring requests to attend the private fundraisers.
The Symphony said it decided to cancel the concerts after pressure from Denver's city attorney and its own legal counsel.
There were concerns that the concerts could violate the state's ban on public consumption of marijuana.
