DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Symphony has fired a violinist who pleaded guilty last week to sexual assault on a child and attempted sexual assault on a child.

Prosecutors said this week that David Waldman was sentenced to 10 years to life on sex-offense intensive supervision probation following his plea, which stemmed from children sleeping over with his daughter.

Prosecutors say a 13-year-old girl who spent the night in September told her father Waldman entered the room where she was sleeping and touched her inappropriately. In November, parents of another girl told Aurora police their daughter said Waldman tried to touch her during a sleepover in 2010, when she was 12.

The symphony placed Waldman on unpaid administrative leave July 2 after learning of the charges. The symphony said Waldman was terminated Thursday.
