The Colorado Supreme Court has agreed to hear arguments on whether campus gun bans are legal.

The court announced Monday that all seven justices agreed to accept the case.

In April the Colorado Court of Appeals ruled in favor of a gun-rights group that sued the University of Colorado. The group argued that a 1994 university policy banning concealed weapons violates state gun laws.

Following the ruling, administrators of the state's community college system repealed its concealed weapons ban on its 13 campuses.

Colorado State University officials rescinded its proposed concealed weapons ban following the decision and threat of a lawsuit from gun-rights groups.
