Downtown, Colorado Springs will be a happenin' place Wednesday morning-some 5,000 will gather for the Colorado Springs Street Breakfast. Fort Carson will be cooking up the food and, later, the crowd will send off the range riders to help promote the upcoming Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo. Organizers say they do it all in cowboy spirit.
"I think the military have the same moral compass that cowboys do," said coordinator Brett Axton, "that we're going to do the right thing, we're going to help somebody else out and that's why the cowboys, in turn, help the military out."
It all begins in tomorrow morning at 5:30. Breakfast will run you $5 and kids under 5 are free. Tejon between Kiowa and Colorado Ave. will be closed off. So will Pikes Peak between Cascade and Wahsatch.
