A 26-year-old soldier from Colorado Springs has died in Afghanistan.

The Defense Department says Spc. Justin Culbreth died November 17 at Panjway district of wounds from a roadside bomb.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat
Team, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Ky.

Before moving to Colorado Springs, Culbreth lived in Missouri. Our media partners at The Gazette report he was stationed at Ft. Carson a few years ago and that's where he met his wife.

He is survived by his wife and five children.
