The city of Colorado Springs has notified El Paso County that it is ending its agreement for shared ambulance service next year.
The city started discussing the split in March due to concern it was overpaying for the service. Our news partners at the Gazette report the board of directors for the El Paso County Emergency Services Agency heard Wednesday that the office received the notice from the city last week.
The agreement will terminate April 2014. The city has not yet announced which company it will utilize for ambulance service.
