Colorado spending $25 million for energy projects

Gov. Bill Ritter says Colorado is one of several states selected for Recovery Act funding for energy efficiency building projects.

The state is partnering with Boulder, Denver and Garfield counties and Xcel Energy to spend $25 million as part of the U.S. Department of Energy's $452 million nationwide Retrofit Ramp-Up initiative.

Ritter says one of the most effective ways to save energy is to make existing buildings more efficient.
