PAGOSA SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Colorado's Wolf Creek Ski Area will remain open through the Columbus Day weekend and then closes for
four days before opening again next weekend.
The southern Colorado resort became the first in in the state to open this season when it welcomed skiers on Saturday.
The resort says it will be open Sunday and Monday as well and then reopen next weekend.
Wolf Creek usually isn't in the running to be the first in the state to open, but it got three feet of snow late last week. Loveland was the first Colorado resort to open last year, on Oct. 24. Arapahoe Basin started the next day.
