Who cares what the groundhog in Pennsylvania says today? The Denver Zoo has a furry forecaster who's already called for six more weeks of winter.

The zoo is holding Prairie Dog Day Tuesday to coincide with Groundhog Day. A prairie dog named Digger who lives at the zoo already came out of his burrow last week and saw his shadow. That means six more weeks of winter.

Colorado is thought to have more than 700,000 acres of prairie dog colonies. The population has been squeezed out by development in most areas.

The Denver Zoo has celebrated prairie dogs on Groundhog Day since 2008.
