Mesa State College is talking about building a "body farm" where forensics students study decomposing human bodies.

Criminal science professor Michael Bozeman says Colorado's first "body farm" would help forensics students prepare for criminal investigations. Body farms are research sites where people who have donated their bodies to science are left so scientists can see how human bodies decompose.

A handful of research body farms are scattered across the country, but Bozeman says the Grand Junction site would be the first in a high-altitude, dry-climate area.

Bozeman has not suggested a specific site.
