A conservative public policy group is warning Colorado lawmakers that big government programs are putting the state's economic future in jeopardy.

Americans for Prosperity state director Jeff Crank says Colorado lawmakers are abandoning reforms that served the state well in the legal system, health care and education in favor of big government programs.

Crank delivered a 71-page report Monday to lawmakers that says the state can once again become a major economic force if lawmakers avoid excessive taxation, uncontrollable spending and a regulatory environment hostile to job growth.
