The Colorado House has scheduled a final vote Friday on a bill giving the state an edge in competing for millions of dollars in federal education funds.

Legislative leaders are rushing the bill through so Gov. Bill Ritter can sign it before Colorado submits its application for the federal "Race to the Top" program next week. If there are no amendments Friday, the bill goes to the governor's desk.

The bill would require the state to track where educators got their training and report on the success of teachers and principals in boosting student achievement.
