Colorado lawmakers are considering a plan that would allow a grocery store to transfer ownership of a liquor store license.
The measure being considered Wednesday by the House Business Affairs and Labor Committee would also allow businesses to convert a retail liquor store license to a liquor-licensed drug store.
Earlier this year, convenience stores lost their bid to sell full-strength beer following opposition from liquor store owners and craft breweries.
The same coalition has killed previous attempts by convenience stores and supermarkets to make inroads in the liquor business.
