Colorado Congress lines still in question

DENVER (AP) - A partisan standoff over new Colorado congressional districts may be heating up.
Democrats signaled Thursday that they may propose a redistricting plan of their own. Top Republicans were huddled in strategy sessions trying to determine their next step.
Lawmakers are required to redraw district lines after every census. It's one of the thorniest jobs politicians have to take up, because both parties furiously try to maximize their chances while
guarding against trickery on the other side.
Colorado's split Legislature this year attempted a bipartisan map drawn by the Republican House and the Democratic Senate. That attempt fell apart last week as partisan tensions flared.
Lawmakers have until May 11 to try to forge a compromise.
