COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - RPI scored two third-period goals Saturday to earn a 2-2 tie with Colorado College in men's college hockey.
Colorado College (1-1-0) jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period on goals 1:12 apart by Rylan Schwartz and David Civitarese. Schwartz also scored in Friday's 2-1 Tigers win.
RPI (0-1-1) responded with goals by Tyler Helfrich early in the third period and the tying goal by Mike Bergin at 15:46.
Colorado College put the heat on RPI goalie Allen York throughout the game, outshooting the Engineers 33-19 in regulation and 3-1 in overtime. York made 34 saves, while Tigers goalie Joe
Howe turned aside 18 shots. Howe faced just one shot on goal in overtime.
The Tigers were 0-for-7 on the power play.
