Colorado investigators say one suspect is responsible for two unsolved homicide cases involving four people in Aurora and Lakewood.
Lakewood police say the Colorado Bureau of Investigation has connected the two homicide cases from 1984 through DNA evidence. Authorities plan to announce their findings during a Tuesday news conference.
The Denver Post reports that authorities believe one person is responsible for the deaths of a Lakewood woman and an Aurora family of three. They haven't linked the DNA evidence to a specific suspect.
Patricia Louise Smith was killed at her Lakewood home. The victims in the Aurora case were Bruce and Debra Bennett and their 7-year-old daughter Melissa. They were also attacked at their home.
