BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a 41-year-old man fell 250 feet to his death while climbing in Eldorado Canyon State Park near Boulder.

Sgt. Lori Cox with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office says the man was found dead just below the Bastille Rock formation at about 5:30 p.m. Friday. The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The county coroner's office is investigating the death.

Cox tells The Daily Camera the man was not wearing climbing gear when the body was found.
