DENVER (AP) - The wife of Colorado's slain prisons chief says she could become enraged that a clerical error led to the early release of the parolee suspected in her husband's death, but she chooses not to make it a focus.
Lisa Clements says being angry won't bring back her husband, according to excerpts provided by CNN of an interview she gave Thursday.
Tom Clements was shot to death after answering his front door March 19. Lisa Clements was home with him at the time. She says the sound of the doorbell and all that happened that night was "unmentionable darkness," but she trusts that people will see her husband lived a good life and affected the lives of others.
The man suspected in Clements' death was paroled in January, four years earlier than prosecutors intended, after a clerical error.
