Colorado education officials are still weighing whether the state should try again to win federal money for education reform.

The team that put together Colorado's "Race to the Top" application plans to meet Tuesday to discuss what to do next. Gov. Bill Ritter then plans to meet with Lt. Gov. Barbara O'Brien and education commissioner Dwight Jones. The final decision rests with Ritter, who has criticized the competition's scoring system.

Colorado placed 14th out a field of 16 finalists in the first round after being scored by a panel of anonymous judges. Ritter told The New York Times the experience was like being an American skater getting rated by a Soviet judge in the 1980s.
