THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has expired TELLER AND NORTHERN EL PASO COUNTIES.
**A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS***
THE LA GARITA AND EASTERN SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS ABOVE 10000 FEET, THE SANGRE DE CRISTO AND WET MOUNTAINS, THE WET MOUNTAIN VALLEY, HUERFANO AND WESTERN LAS ANIMAS COUNTIES INCLUDING WOLF CREEK AND LA VETA PASSES.
PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL FALL FROM LATE THIS MORNING THROUGH MID-AFTERNOON.
SNOW ACCUMULATION BETWEEN 4 AND 8 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ACROSS THE MOUNTAIN AREAS...2 TO 5 INCHES ACROSS THE LOWER ELEVATIONS WEST OF INTERSTATE 25.
WEST WINDS AT 15 TO 25 MPH WITH WIND GUSTS TO 35 MPH AT TIMES.
TODAY: Snow through 11am and then tapering off from north to south with at least a couple inches of accumulation more in the counties under the Winter Weather Advisory. Clouds decreasing throughout the day with a high near 20 in Colorado Springs and near 25 in Pueblo. Wind chill values between zero and 5. Blustery, with a north wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and so cold. The low will fall to 2 degrees in Colorado Springs and -4 in Pueblo. A light north wind will make it feel like -10 at times.
MONDAY: Partly sunny and not quite as cold with highs in the upper 30s in the Springs and low 40s in Pueblo.
MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy and cold with a low of 10 in Colorado Springs and 6 in Pueblo. A light northwest wind will make it feel more like 0.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny and a little warmer with highs in the mid to upper 40s. Overnight lows will be near 20 in the Springs and 15 in Pueblo.
WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY: Sunny and mild with slightly above average conditions as the afternoon will warm into the low 50s in the Springs and the upper 50s in Pueblo. Mostly clear overnight with lows near 20 degrees.
FRIDAY-SATURDAY: A mix of sun and clouds with highs in the 40s in the Springs and near 50 in Pueblo. Colder overnight lows in the upper teens.
