With Tuesday night's lows expected to fall to the single digits and teens, a few of us may have some pipe freezing problems. To keep them to a minimum, here are a few tips.
1) Leave your interior water taps slightly open so they can drip continuously
2) Don't let the indoor temperature get too cool
3) If you have pipes next to an exterior wall, you might want to get more heated air to them by opening cabinet doors in places like under the kitchen sink.
4) If your pipes DO freeze, don't attempt to thaw them out rapidly with a torch, it's better to warm them gradually with a hair dryer.
5) Just in case the worst happens, have some bottled water on hand to use until after the plumber gets the fluid flowing again.
