Climbing competition held at Pueblo's YMCA

Kids and adults of all ages take to the climbing wall for a competition in Pueblo.

The YMCA in Pueblo hosted the competition, which pitted people against each other in different age groups.

Those with the YMCA say it's the perfect sport for kids to try, especially in an environment like that where they can learn the correct and safe way to do it.

Even though today was a competition, there really wasn't much competition on the wall.

"You'll see the youth helping each other out, solve problems and solve the different routes, and they're really focused on having other people achieve their individual success," said Max Clark, Pueblo YMCA Director of Camping and Climbing.

Money raised from the event will benefit both Pueblo's YMCA Climbing and the Southern Colorado Climber's Resource and Action Group.
