School is back in session at a suburban Denver school for the first time since a gunman wounded two students in the parking lot last week.
Monday was the first day of classes at Deer Creek Middle School since a man with a hunting rifle opened fire last Tuesday. Bruco Strong Eagle Eastwood was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is being held under $1 million cash bail in the shootings.
He is due in court again Tuesday. The school, about 3 miles from the site of the 1999 Columbine High School shootings, opened for a few hours Friday for students who wanted to talk to counselors or pick up items left behind.
