Some mountain shadows residents went to church for the first time since the fire swept through their neighborhood. The Wilson United Methodist Church held an outdoor service against the backdrop of damaged homes and charred land. Their point was to remind their congregation that God has a bigger picture for all of us, though we may not see it until later.
"We will be able to say, ‘Ah...this is why we were placed here in this place at this time, for such a time as this, for this community,'" said Pastor David Hiester. Over 300 attended today's service. 5 families there lost their homes to the Waldo Canyon Fire.
