Christie begins day with church service

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Inauguration day ceremonies are underway in New Jersey.

Gov. Chris Christie arrived at a church in Newark for a service Tuesday morning.

Christie starts his second term with multiple investigations into his administration's tactics. The Republican will accentuate bipartisanship and diversity in his inaugural speech in Trenton.

In prepared remarks obtained by The Associated Press, Christie says, "We have to be willing to reach out to others who look or speak differently than us."

Christie is also expected to return to a favorite theme: Washington gridlock.

He says: "We cannot fall victim to the attitude of Washington, D.C. The attitude that puts political wins ahead of policy agreements."

Christie will wrap up his inauguration with a party on Ellis Island.
