Imprisoned Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo has won the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize "for his long and non-violent struggle for fundamental human rights in China."
The Nobel Committee says it has long believed that there is a close connection between human rights and peace.
The award is likely to enrage the Chinese government, which had warned the Nobel committee not to honor him. The chairman of the Nobel Committee says China's government should expect that its policies face scrutiny.
