TODAY: Cold and calmer today compared to the wind and snow yesterday and last night/this morning. During the afternoon today you can expect plenty of sunshine, lighter winds and chilly temps of only 33 in the Springs and 39 in Pueblo. Temps around Canon City...La Junta and Lamar will also be near 40. A weak disturbance will bring a few areas of light snow (1-2") to the central mountains through the afternoon. No precip expected here locally, but there will be a slight chance over Pikes of a few flakes flying this afternoon.
TONIGHT: With the mostly clear skies it will be a much colder night, especially at the lower elevations. Temps tonight drop to 10 in the Springs...9 in Pueblo and in the teens in Canon City and La Junta.
THURSDAY: We'll end the month of February with dry skies, a mix of clouds and sunshine and chilly temps. Only 38 in the Springs and lower 40's for Pueblo, La Junta and Canon. Slight chance during the day across the Continental Divide for some light scattered snow showers.
FRIDAY: First day of March will be filled with sun and slightly warmer temps. High for Colorado Springs 41 in the Springs and the upper 40's in Canon City and Pueblo.
SATURDAY-SUNDAY: Make some plans to be outside this weekend. We expect dry skies again with much warmer temps each day. Colorado Springs and Ft. Carson will reach the lower 50's...Pueblo and Canon City warm to the mid to upper 50's by Sunday. If you have plans to do some skiing Saturday will be dry...but there may be a few light snow showers starting again across the mountains during the afternoon on Sunday as the next, somewhat weak storm moves into the state.
MONDAY: That same storm will bring us some cooler temps and a very slight chance of a few light showers across eastern Colorado to start next week. Chances for precip will be low...only about 10-20% for Teller County, Monument Hill and the mountains west of I-25...only about 10% for places like Colorado Springs. Spots east of I-25 like Pueblo, La Junta and Lamar.
