Chilean law says "no" to toys in kids' meals

Children in Chile will have to enjoy Happy Meals without toys under a new law.
Passed in June, the law bans toys from children's meals at McDonald's and other restaurants in an attempt to curb the growing problem of childhood obesity.
It also applies to the makers of cereal and other products who use toys to attract young consumers.
The senator who wrote the law called the advertising techniques used to lure kids to junk food "abusive."
Companies that fail to comply could face fines, but the law's author said the restaurants are still offering plastic toys with kid's meals and filed a formal complaint with the Health Ministry.
He wants to force fast food chains in Chile to take the toys off their menus.
In Chile, nearly one in four six-year-olds is considered obese.
