Chile and salsa competition planned at State Fair

Calling all salsa and chile cooks! The Colorado State Fair will sponsor a green chile contest as well as a salsa competition at this year's event in Pueblo.
Prizes of $50 to $100 will be awarded.
The Green Chili Championship will be held on Saturday, September 4 at 6 p.m. in the kitchen of the Creative Arts Building on the Fairgrounds. Registration is now open with an entry deadline of Thursday, September 2.
The Salsa Challenge will be held on Sunday, September 5 at 4 p.m., also in the kitchen of the Creative Arts Building. Registration for the Salsa Challenge is open until Friday, September 3.
These contests are open to anyone of any age as long as they are amatuers. Entry forms, competition rules and guidelines for each category are available at the Colorado State Fair website. They also can be picked up from the General Entry Office in the Agricultural Palace on the Fairgrounds, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or by calling 719-404-2080.
The Colorado State Fair runs from August 27 - September 6, 2010.
