U.S. Women’s Figure Skating Champion Rachel Flatt got a surprise send-off Thursday afternoon at Cheyenne Mountain High School.
Hundreds of students, teachers and staff gathered in the courtyard at the high school to wish her well at the Vancouver Games. Thursday’s event at the school surprised Flatt. “I’m certainly looking forward to representing the U.S. at the Olympics and do all you proud, as well as Cheyenne Mountain.” Flatt said.
Flatt attended the Opening Ceremonies last week in Vancouver but came home to hit the books and resume her high altitude training with the Broadmoor Skating Club. She competes next Tuesday and Thursday.
