In Pueblo drivers can now go faster on some parts of the interstate. Over the past month, the Colorado Department of Transportation raised the speed limit on the north and south ends of town. It's gone from 55 to 65 miles an hour.
CDOT says the change was prompted by an out-of-state driver who complained the old speed limit was too slow. "We get complaint from in state people too, we got some other (speed changes) in progress--Walsenburg, and there's two or three little ones around Canon City," said Jimmy Biren, an assistant traffic engineer for CDOT.
CDOT says it studies traffic volumes and speeds before changing the speed limit.
