CC fan attends 967th game in home finale, keeping tradition in the family

CC wrapped up its regular season at home over the weekend, marking another year of perfect attendance for their biggest fan.

January 15th, 1965 was the last time Nick Remmel missed a Colorado College home game.

"And I haven't missed a game since at home"

967 straight, lasting over 49 years. Every home game section 119, row J, seat 22 is filled. And now a new Remmel streak is forming. His son, Shane.

"He hasn't missed a game in 12 years here," says Nick Remmel. "We started taking him when he was like five or six. We just enjoy it, so we go every game."

You won't hear much cheering or clapping from the Remmels, they just talk hockey and analyze what they see.

"I tried to teach him a lot about the game but, he knows a lot of stuff now, he's pointing out things to me."

Something Remmel is content to do for the rest of his days.

"I want to make 1,000 games for sure, that'll be the year after next. I'll just keep going until i can't do it anymore."

Next season will mark the 50th year of Remmel attending CC games, but he can't reach his goal of 1,000 games until the following season, when he turns 75.
